🔹 Introduction
At Surplex, accessibility is a core part of how we serve our customers. It reflects our dedication to inclusivity and compliance. We strive to make our website easy to use for everyone, offering a reliable and modern digital experience that’s clear, intuitive, and open to all.
🔹 Commitment to Accessibility
We are committed to making our website accessible to everyone , regardless of ability or technology. We strive to meet the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 aiming for Level AA compliance.
🔹 Compliance Status
This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA due to the issues identified during our latest audit.
🔹 Known Accessibility Limitations
Based on automated testing with axe-core and manual evaluations, the following accessibility issues have been identified:
- Button names: Multiple buttons lack discernible text, making them inaccessible to screen readers (e.g., elements with classes, and others).
- Document titles: Several HTML documents lack non-empty elements, impacting navigation for assistive technologies.
- Link names: Certain links do not have accessible text, affecting screen reader usability and keyboard navigation.
- Color contrast: Text elements have insufficient contrast ratios (2.59 vs. required 4.5:1), hindering readability for users with visual impairments.
- Form inputs: Some input fields, such as file inputs and text inputs, lack implicit or explicit labels, ARIA labels, or placeholders, reducing accessibility.
- ARIA attributes: Unsupported ARIA attributes are present, potentially causing confusion for assistive technologies.
We are actively working to address these issues through a comprehensive accessibility improvement roadmap, prioritizing critical and serious violations to enhance user experience.
