Depending on the lot and auction, the total price may consist of:
- The hammer price
- The buyer’s premium
- Mandatory additional costs
- Applicable VAT
Please review the complete price information before placing your bid.
What is the hammer price?
The hammer price is the final accepted bid for the lot.
What is the buyer’s premium?
The buyer’s premium is a fee calculated on top of the hammer price. The applicable percentage is displayed on the lot page and may vary depending on the auction, project or category.
For more information, please read: What is the buyer’s premium?
What are Additional Costs?
Additional Costs may cover services required to prepare the lot for collection, such as:
- Dismantling
- Packaging
- Removal
- Loading
- Load preparation
- Documentation
If Additional Costs are mandatory, they are charged regardless of whether you collect the lot yourself or appoint a transport company.
The applicable amount is displayed on the lot page.
How is VAT calculated?
The applicable VAT treatment depends on factors such as:
- The country where the lot is located;
- The country of destination;
- Whether you have a valid VAT identification number; and
- Whether the required transport or export documents are provided.
Business buyers
A tax-exempt intra-Community supply may be possible for an eligible business buyer with a valid VAT identification number if all legal requirements are fulfilled.
For certain cross-border transactions, a VAT security deposit may initially be charged.
