How does bank transfer payments work?

When a buyer chooses to pay the Payment Order (PO) via a bank transfer, the payment details for this are shared

  1. directly in the check-out process on the website and
  2. if chosen, via a Payment Order PDF shared via e-mail.

The payment details consist of:

  1. A payment reference: the PO number
  2. The beneficiary: TBAuctions Netherlands BV
  3. The IBAN

We work with Payment Service Providers (PSPs) to process transactions compliantly, such as Stripe. Because of our integration with PSPs, the beneficiary can differ from the brand where a buyer buys. Since the entity 'TBAuctions Netherlands BV' is the main holder of the Stripe account, it is the official beneficiary shared on all Payment Orders. The IBAN shared with a buyer has a German (DE) prefix for payments of a Surplex buyer and for example a Dutch prefix (NL) for payments of a Troostwijk buyer. As a result, the country of the beneficiary and the IBAN can differ.
